Dr. Elba Rohena, BCBA

Dr. Rohena is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst licensed to practice in Texas. In addition to her board certification, she has three degrees in special education: a BA from the University of Puerto Rico, an MA from Columbia University, and an Ed.D. from Lehigh University. She has held positions as a special education teacher in Puerto Rico and as a supervisor of special education for the School District of Allentown in Pennsylvania, but the majority of her career has been as an associate professor of special education at Millersville University. She has been practicing as a behavior therapist since 2013 when she completed the ABA program at Penn State and began her internship to become Board Certified.

Dr. Rohena is fluent in English and Spanish and believes that children learn best when they are taught in their natural environment and with proper accounting for their cultural and linguistic backgrounds. These beliefs are grounded in research and supported by her 20 years of college teaching and supervising student teachers, and it is why she provides in-home therapy in addition to therapy provided in her clinic. She is experienced with all levels of disability, including children with severe and multiple disabilities.

Dr. Rohena is a member of the Association of Professional Behavior Analysts, Association for Behavior Analysis International, and the Texas Association for Behavior Analysis.
